I'm Krista,

A quiet soul photographing in-between moments in a life without pauses.

My photography style is poetic, dreamy + cinematic. With over seven years of experience and a keen eye for beauty, I capture compelling, emotional, timeless photographs with your personal vision in mind.

the 'why' behind what I do ...

Creating is my deepest connection to Jesus, and to others. In my work, I seek to give feelings a bodysoft light pouring over skin, the powder-blue haze of dusk in November, reflections in the backdrop of subway tunnels, illuminated cityscapes, the silent communion between friends + lovers ...

When I'm not taking photographs, I'm writing poetry + prose, journaling, decorating interior spaces, growing herbs, getting lost in thought on train rides, finding vintage treasures, frequenting my favorite spots in NYC, getting unreasonably excited over a homemade cup of coffee, and painting in watercolor.

My hope in all that I create, is that it serves to capture that which is profound and enduring...

beauty, tradition, intimacy, + connection.

Alpine

A photograph speaks more clearly than words,
yet every person sees it differently.

My mind often gravitates to tall pine trees and mountains. I dream of being in a place where I can see them all the time. I knew when I picked up a camera that I wanted my photographs to reflect how it feels to be surrounded by awe-inspiring beauty. To resemble, or emanate the feeling of, a bone-white sky tapestried over a woodland landscape, or the scent of crisp air and damp earth after a storm. To create images that awake our senses, emotions, and the feeling that there is more to life than the tangible and seen.

One day I came across Isaiah 55:12.

For you shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace,

The mountains and the hills shall break forth into singing before you,

And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Through months of holding onto this verse, one of joy and freedom—I contemplated how beautiful an image it paints: nature celebrating with us. Worshiping with us. Sharing in our joy.

Psalm 1:21 says, I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

In Matthew 17:20, Jesus tells us "Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

These verses hold so much more meaning than what I am able to convey here, but the point is this ...

Alpine has its name because Jesus has given me a deep love for the beauty of His creation, and I want to capture it and share it with others all the days of my life.
